Hi, anyone can help me ? I have an USRobotic modem ext in Com 1 how can RedHat linux detect it. when i using query command, it said : No such device. And my soundcard : Opl3-sax , how can i find the driver for redhat 7.3 and the last : how can i mount to partition using XP with fat NTFS ? ( i have some file .rpm for redhat 7.3 in thist )

check that your modem can handle linux, you may be workingwith a win modem. to configure sound log in as su - at your terminal and type in sndconfig, follow the instruction to select and configure your card.if your modem can handle linux at a prompt(terminal) type dmesg,enter. check that your modem is set at he proper ttyS. the linux equivalent for com1 is ttyS0. after that log in as root(su) and type minicom -s. check that the serial port is set correctly, ttyS0, save config as dfl and exit. try to connect, see if that works.
