Could any one point me to a antivirus solution which is free.I have heard about SOPHOS but i do not know much about this.So please point me to a anti-virus 4 linux which is free and can also be automatically updated.
I think you should read up on Linux and virii first and possibly save a lot of trouble. There have only been about 2 Linux viruses, and they didn't do any damage. There's little reason for an AV program unless you want to use it to scan windoze files

I have read about the virus( and i do know that Linux does not have Outlook to spread worms ;-)),but i still do require a anti-virus,as i get lots of mails from friends who end up sending mails from infected PC and i (since i am not affected on a Linux box)unknowingly forward those mails. Hence i felt it would be helpful/useful to install a anti-virus
