Hello Can anyone tell me about ADSL modems for linux? I would like to use an old pentium with linux to share an internet connection (ADSL). I understand there are plenty of routing applications out there, but can they "dial" an internal adsl modem? Does linux support pci adsl modems? Thanks in advance Daniel

I have a cheapo conexant adsl PCI 'megaspeed' modem. Works fine in windows but is a mission trying to get it working under Mandrake 8.2 at the moment. I believe that PCI modems are 'winmodems' that cut costs by using software to emulate hardware. Seems they are not well supported in linux.
