I used Intel 845GBV motherboard (VGA 4MB + Sound Onboard + USB Port 2.0).
How can I add sound card + USB in Linux8.0
Best regards

eeee? what is this Linux8.0!?!?!
is it a new distribution or what ?!?my friend RTFM before you ask anything.
I know that you want to get away from MicroShot but without thinking and reading you can't go long.
and in the end you will be disappointed about THIS so called UNFRIENDLY system called GNU/Linux.
GNU/Linux is powerfull.
GNU/Linux is 1000 times more customizable than the others.again RTFM
p.s. RTFM = Read The F*cking Manuals
:)

Unfortunatley RTFM dosent work for intel 845, there are no manuals, there are no drivers, there is no fix i have found- yet. (and i have RTFMs). Having said that RedHat8 did install and runs. I think though that using a dot 0 release and new hardware is not the way to start using linux (and i know this cause i just did it and am still pulling my hair out-but red hat 7.3 didnt work)
Video : use the vesa driver for 16mb not the i810 driver
Sound : Use the alsa drivers for i810 (check out the alsa-sound mini-howto and howto at tldp.net and www.alsa-project.org) just used them myself yesterday. make sure you read the whole thing and it will be much easier.
USB: dunno, never tried hooking up to it, but i see the drivers fly past on boot up ok.
