Accessing Windows Partition HELP!!

CPU/Ram: AMD 1.4ghz athlon, 256 dd

HI, newb to linux need help

i mnted the windows and i can acces it but for some reason i can only access it if i go under 'root', i don't know how to change this, wondering if anyone could help

this is the line on my fstab for the windows mount

/dev/hda1 /mnt/windows ntfs defaults 0 0

you can use vfat instead of ntfs in your fstab entry. hope this will clear the problem

tried it didn't work :(

i try to access the mandrake control centre
under 'root'
and went to partition sharing and saved it
under 'allow all users to access',
but it doesn't seem to help

sometimes i get a message 'cannot save current
module' when i acces the mandrake control
center, anyone help??
