Subject: A question on RedhatOS: RH 8.0CPU/Ram: Athlon 1.4G/512MB |
Comment: A question on Redhat ( post #1) Hi folks, I have been away from Redhat for sometimes. Now I am going to test 'globus-toolkit' on a PC running RH8.0. I tried to donwload some rpm packages but could not find its website. Kindly advise. 1) Whether Redhat has been renamed as Redhat Linux 2) Where are the URLs of their official site including mirror 3) Where are their mailing lists TIA B.R. satimis

Reply: (edit)Hi folks, Tks for your response. Before posting I have browsed www.redhat.com and could not find RH8.0 and RH9.0 packages there on "Download" page. It seems that Redhat is now pushing Fedora. globus-toolkit (from IBM) has nothing to do with Redhat. It is grid-computing. I just try to run it on RH8.0 which is the PC available for me to do this test. Of course I can install another OS on this PC but I am lazy to it. I may still face the difficult in operating RH because I have not used it for sometimes. B.R. satimis
