Hi,

I have a Dell Optiplex SX270 system.

It has a 82865G controller. In RH9, the display is much bigger than my monitor size. It is okie only when I set the no. of colors to 256.

What to do ??

Gauhar

I think that either the graphic card doesn't have enough memory to support high colour definition or the X system doesn't know the correct amount of memory the card has. You know how much memory is available on the graphic card?

Try removing the line:
DisplaySize 360 290
from the Monitor section.

What size do you want to run at? Can you toggle through the different resolutions with Ctrl & Alt & [+/-]? (NB The plus or minus keys are on the numeric keypad and not the ones by backspace)

Hi,

I did try to toggle thru with the +/- thingy.

However, nothing changes at depth 16
At depth 8 it changes the resolutions but then its useless at depth 8.

I'll try and remove the line and see.

Thanks,

Gauhar
