Ok, I'm posting here because I think this is the best place to find things out about what I need to know. Could someone explain the 64bit processor, and who makes them..Insides and out.
Well, a 64bit processor is just a new processor with 64bit registers. I've heard that Windows XP 64bit exists, so I can assume that Intel 64bit processors exist.

Mac G3s and G4s are 64 bit, so are some other non-x86 CPUs. Most desktops use x86, though (386, 486, Pentium, Athlon, etc.).
Intel (with Itanium) and AMD (with Hammer) are both developing 64 bit CPUs that will also support regular x86. Windows will support both versions, and Linux already supports them.
64 bit just means that registers hold 64 bits or 8 bytes. Registers are ultra-fast physical structures on the CPU that hold data and can be accessed by low level CPU operations.
