I am having a linux box with RH9.i am having 3 nics. one eth0(10.1.2.210) for internal network,eth1(192.168.1.2)external 1 gateway 192.168.1.1 and eth2(192.168.100.2)external 2 gateway 192.168.100.1 I have managed to split access to the 2 gateways(i have 2 dsl lines) and have created 3 seperate tables.one for the 1st gateway(eth1),one for the second gateway(eth2) and one for the load balancing. I only want to use this linux box as a router with no firewall installed.
My questions.
1) what should be the gateway of eth0 (internal network)?
2) what iptables rules should i write so the packets can go from internal network to both gateways and of course return
3) how can i be sure that both of the dsl routers are used with the load balancing technique and not only the one?
4) is there any way that i can make this linux box both load balancing with 2 dsl routers and fail over (when one dsl line is off then the packets go to the other one)

Thank you

1) You shouldn't need a gateway for your internal network, unless it is behind yet another router.

2, 3) Read http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Adv-Routing-HOWTO/lartc.rpdb.multiple-links.html

4) If you really want failover, you should also check out http://www.ssi.bg/~ja/. I've applied these patches (to a 2.4.22 kernel) and they did work.
