yes, when I installed 7.2 rh I used grub as
my boot loader. I usually use a floppy disk
to boot linux and that way when I turn my
computer on it automaticly boots windows,
well this time I accedently put grub as the
mbr on the first partition and cant boot to
windows xp I guess my question is can I
remove grub and how or if need be how can I
add windows xp to grub? I would really like
to use the floppy for linux and have mt
computer boot to windows as normal. Thank
you in advance.

Boot up with a DOS bootdisk. Windows 95 or 98 or ME boot disks work fine. Then once you get the DOS prompt, type in the command: fdisk /mbr
That should do it.

thank you, now can I make this boot disk
from my linux machine, I know there are
several sites out there that have these
boot images for windows will they work fine?

Forget a dos bootdisk, it wont work for
win2k/xp. Boot with the WinXP cd, run
emergency recovery, and try to get to the
console recovery option. At the c:\ prompt
run fixmbr and fixboot.

% For to boot XP at the (hd0,0) or (sd0,0),
% this instructions perhaps may help you:
%
% In the GRUB, press "c" key, let the "GRUB
% command prompt" comes. Then try these commands:
% GRUB> rootnoverify (hd0,0)
% GRUB> chainloader +1
% GRUB> boot
%
% It should be boot XP or win9x.
% If it doesn't work, or the machine lock,
% there may be three possibility:
% 1 - GRUB is not work with XP or 2K or NT at the MBR
% 2 - GRUB has some bugs
% 3 - You should add these commands in "GRUB loader file"
