you could also try a reset on your iPad, this can clear up a myriad of problems.
Hold down the home button and the sleep button until you see the Apple logo. If you see the screen that tells you to swipe to turn off, ignore it just keep holding the two buttons until you see the Apple logo, then let it boot.
