Did you restored your iPod's software?
The message indicates that you need both, the iTunes software and the iPod software.

"the software required for communication with the iPod is not installed correctly. Please reinstall the iTunes to install iPod's software"

Go to the How-tos section here at Computing.net and read the latest "How to restore the iPad/iPhone/iPod OS and all your settings and files". I tried myself this procedure this week and it worked fine to restore everything.

http://www.computing.net/howtos/sho...

However, try this first if your iPod allows you and if you have purchased files on your iPod that are not on your iTunes.

1) Open iTunes. Hold down the SHIFT+CTRL keys on Windows or OPTION+SHIFT on Mac while connecting your iPod to your computer and until you actually see your iPod shown in the iTunes list.

2) Now you can use the “Transfer Purchases” under the "File" menu in iTunes to get all your files from the iPhone. This will work only with the entire library and you can't use it to select specific files but I recommend this if you have purchased files on your iPod that are not on your iTunes.

Back up everything!!.

Hi again,

If you find that you can't recover your files from your iPod there are some apps
that may help you.

Senuti is free, open-source and drag-and-drop app.
Is a Mac-only application that allows you to recover songs, photos and
movies from your iPod but also allows you to copy songs from a Windows
formatted iPod. A downside is it doesn't recognize duplicate tracks.

iPodRip, $15
It works in both Mac OS X and Windows

iPod Access, $20
Mac and Windows

Anapod Explorer, $30
Windows-only app

Ok, I see the problem. Try the following "Error... 1415..." procedure.

This is from Apple's website:

Error 1415, 1417, 1418, 1428, 1429, 1430, 1436 or 1439: Cannot restore or update iPod in iTunes 7 or later
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1372

I know you already reinstalled iTunes but use this Apple procedure as a reference:

Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software
components for Windows 7
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923

And you can also try this:
Reset your iPod, when the apple logo appears click Left + Center. It will take you to the diagnostics menu.

Also try this:
Plug in your iPod in Disk Mode: Reset by holding Menu/Middle buttons and then hold Middle/Play until disk mode appears (Leave it plugged in).
Go to Control Panel and open "System"
Click the "Hardware" tab and "Device Manager"
Find and maximize "Universal Serial Bus controllers"
Right click on "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver". Then choose "Uninstall" (If it's not installed, get it with Itunes.) If it doesn't work right there, unplug and plugin your iPod again. Opening Itunes might help.
