Specs: Windows 7, 8gb
I want to replace my keyboard on my Pavilion dv6 HP -634139-001.
And my ZIF connector does not clip on to main assembly of the connector.
The base of the ZID looks ok but the other piece does not connect to the base.

Where can I purchase a ZIF for of a HP pavilion dv6 notebook?
To connect to a HP-634139-001 Keyboard.

One would have to question why a genuine replacement keyboard would not come with the correct connector. Did you order the correct replacement part for your exact model/serial number laptop?

Hi Kuwese, most interesting reading - Thanks.

My only thoughts:-

a) am not happy about the use of sticky tape, in case it shorts out contacts

b) no mention regarding locating and removing any broken pieces from the locking clip

Sorry Richard59 I was not clear.

The keyboards only comes with the ribbon cable. But the ZIF (Zero insertion force connector) top locking piece connects to the bottom piece of the ZIF connector. The top piece holds the keyboard ribbon cable to the base of the ZIF.
I was hoping that someone could give me the part number for the ZIF of keyboard. And then I would purchase the ZIF and replace my current top ZIF.
And I agreed with one of the comments that there must be a better way to connect the keyboard ribbon to the connector other than a tape.
Thank you for all your comments!!
