Hi,

got a real strange problem here...
I was just computing last night and shut it down now this morning it would not boot anymore..
It's just when posting is done and it comes to the part were it locates the drives and floppy.. then nothing happens and i get a line on the bottom of the screen saying "YoYo" ..?

So i took off the floppy drive and tried again.. same problem.
Then i put my HDD in another pc as slave where it was working fine...

Also tried starting up without HDD but then i just get a boot error.
So what is this? windows gone bad?

Thanks.

I have never heard of the YoYo error.

Have you tried an XP repair install?

It sounds like a virus to me.

Try this:
Plug your HDD to another machine but let it be the only HDD there, and let it be configured as a master (if it was configured as a master in your computer). If you get the same message, it certainly is a virus (haven't never heard of the YoYo error message b4).

If it boots ok, that enter BIOS in your computer, and configure it to boot from a floppy or a CD, and turn off boot from HDD option).

This way you can only get ERROR BOOTING... or YoYo again.

If it's YoYo, than your BIOS is infected - which I doubt.

But if it's ERROR BOOTING... Than... have no idea :(

Had that same problem.
It didnt say YoYo. It said Y∞Y∞. Right ?
Anyway I was able to access the drive with another computer. Did a virus scan. The drive was clean. I did a reformat and reinstall of xp.
Try to google "Y∞Y∞"
Not really searchable because of the ∞ .

YO YO my ASS!!!! I got the same thingand all I did was open Ranish partition Manager and changed the MBR to "STANDARD". ReBooted and RePartioned the drive and was able to install windows after that. This was after HOURS of trying everything, I MEAN EVERYTHING. i.e. flashing BIOS, regular RePartion, changing HDD, swapping cables, changing channels. Hope this helps. YO YO IS NOW NO NO!!!!!
