Hello i was wondering if there is a reason why my monitor is slightly yellow, i have tried to adjust the colour settings but it still seems to be yellowish. If someone could tell me what to do i have no problem opening the moitor and messing around if thats what it takes.

check the pins in the cable. Could be bent or missing. Or possibly one or more of the color guns is going out. Time to replace the monitor. Since prices are so cheap for CRT monitors, I wouldn't recommend opening it up. There are some parts in there that could still hold voltage even if the monitor is unplugged. There's also lead inside.

If the display is only slightly yellow, you will need to increase the red. If red does not display at all, you have a more serious problem. Strbux has already detailed the how to fault find this. Just make sure that your connectors are firmly seated after this.

i have checked the pins and they are all there, i have also made sure that the connector is firmly seated, and i have also tried to increase the red but there is no option for that on my screen settings. One question this may sound stupid but why is lead dangerous? I have heared about it and i know i should actually be aware of it but what can it do to me if i was to open the monitor?
im actually going to buy a flat screen but i just wanted to know what danger lead has.
thanx

Lead (the metal) is poisonous. What's more, it is a residual poison, which means it will build up in your body over time.
Whilst solder may look appertising. Do not, I repeat, do not eat too much of it!
