My condesor XLR mic is not working. I have change from a midi interface and it worked fine but am trying to get my mic to by passing the interface and plug directly into my sound card ,,,and i get nothing,,,connection is the same as any mic. Ive tested the sounded card by using a simple thin 10 dollar boom mic and its works fine,,,, as soon as i connect the condensor mic,,,nada,,,,have gone into sound settings and changed the setting to alternate mic and still nothing,,,,,, is there something im missing,,, special drivers for my sound card ?,,,, any help would be appreciated,,,,thanks in advance,,, Lee

Condenser mics need there own power source. Often this is supplied by a third cable wired to the plug. Unless the sound card Mic socket has this third connection it is not going to work. Most sound cards these days are designed to be used with dynamic Mic's which is what the boom mike is. Stuart
