I am having an issue with my 256mb SanDisk Micro-SD memory card. I use it to transfer photos/video files from my PC to my cell phone (LG VX8300 with Verizon) and this arrangement has worked quite well for the past year. However, when I slipped the small chip out of the phone and into the SanDisk card, placed it in my media card reader and tried to copy a file over to the card last night, it flashed a message about the disk being write-protected. I took the card out and *did* notice the slider on the slide had been moved into the "lock" position, so I slid it back up. But everytime I place it back in the reader and try to transfer anything, I get the same message! It looks like the piece is constantly being pushed back into "lock" position, which I'm going to guess is the root of my problem.

I have never had this issue before. I've tried this numerous times, even tried a system reboot for what it was worth, but nothing. I'm guessing I may have to use a small bit of superglue to keep that slider in the "open" position (since I don't have a need to ever lock it or keep it write-protected). Is this safe to do? What other remedies might there be to fix it?

Thanks.

See if you can tape the lock in place.

Super glue should work, just don't glue it when the card is in place.
