Well i just bought a bunch of stuff, im building a computer. I wanted to know if it would be safe to have the computer in my room which is down stairs its kinda cold down there but not to cold and there is a dehumidifier down stairs to keep the basement from being moist. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you

Not sure what your precise worry is.

If you invest in a very inefficient computer, you may find that your computer doubles up as a good radiator for your cold room. Now there's a solution ;)

seriously - using computers in humid environments, I've not experienced any particular problems. With a home-built computer, one difficulty happened in hot temperatures where the computer fan was too weak to cool the computer down.

Good luck.

Sounds like an ideal environment to me...cool, dry, stable, and likely to have circuits not used by other appliances in the home.

Not at all. Keep a few packs of silica gel outside the computer and you'll be fine. The fans don't squeak - but the little CPU gerbil running inside the treadmill does squeak regardless - that gets worse in hotter climates - not oooler ones so you're pretty much safe..
