I have a PNY geforce 6600

and the fan on it died... I was wondering if anyone would know if this Vantec CCB-A1C fan
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...

would be a good replacement for it. I dont know much about replacing VGA fans so any feedback opinions will be greatly appreciated.

"Pros: It works (kind of).

Cons: The mounting pins included with this were just too big to fit in the holes that are on my 6600GT's PCB.

Other Thoughts: My 6600GT's stock heat-sink fan died, and needed a replacement. I saw this and all the favorable reviews for it, so I decided to go with it. After recieveing it and preparing to mount it, it became pretty apparent that the mounting pins provided were much to large. The only solution I could come up with were using some twist-ties I had laying around. It does appear to hold the HSF on there pretty well, and it is keeping my temperatures in check (65C under load). I don't know if it's Vantec's problem that they didn't include smaller pins (which doesn't seem like it would have been hard to do), or the 66000GT's manufacturer for having such small mounting holes. Either way, if you have a 6600 series card, I'd stay away from this."

Damn anybody know of a nice thin fan model that would work? I need a thin one because I have a TV tuner card in the slot right under the video card so I dont want it touching too much

If you cant find anything I'd just get that Vantec cooler anyways and just reuse the pushpins that are already in your current heatsink/fan.
