If you want a good reasonably priced open/ over the head headset try the Panasonic RP-HT355. They come with a really long cable and inline volume. I paid about $35 at Circuitcity awile back. I listened to sets that cost $100 that didn't sound as good.

do you want a headset for a cellphone or a computer? I never saw anybody use one on a computer. This is a computer forum.

bbqbeef, u never seen a headset for computers??? 8O
if u do voice via IP (voice/video chat) or especialy if u play online games with voice chat, then this is the best to have a headset.

I've been using Labtech Axis002 headset for 3 years now, the sound is awsome, full bass, no sound distortion at all, can put on full valume the explosion sound and sound is crystal clear. The only problem I had for first few month is pain on top of my ears, becaus its "behind-the-head" headset, they are hanging on your years. But still, very light and most important with great sound.
But unfortunetly its been discontinued...

P.S. dont buy Andrea Anti-Noise NC-65. Even though the sound quality is exelent, a sound with big bass (sound of explosions) can destroy the headphones.

You don't wanna spend too much? How much is R113.00 in US dollars? it sounds like a lot...

Have you tried searching Google for "PC headset reviews" or something like that?

here's a couple of things that I found:

- The higher the impedance, the more electrical energy is required to drive the headphones' tiny speakers. Because of the limited power available from a portable player, headphones for portable use should have a maximum impedance of 64 ohms — the lower the impedance, the more efficient the 'phones, and the more volume you'll get out of them.

- The human ear detects frequencies between 20-20,000 Hz

- The higher a speaker's sensitivity rating, the louder it will play on the input it receives. A speaker that's rated 3 dB higher than another only requires 1/2 as much power to produce the same volume

if headsets are for gaming, best to ask in the gaming forum.

I have tried VOIP (Vonage) but it uses a regular phone.
