maybe you should buy one already built. read the questions here from people who build things and have many problems.

YOu plug it into the board, you close the little lever. You put some thermal paste on the die, you gently attach the heatsink with fan. You then add your ram starting with slot 0, then add to slot 1 and 2 if you have more ram. Then you add your graphics card, and all other pci cards. Then you plug your ide devices in, and yoru floppy, making all red edges of the ide cables plug into the connectors on the motherboard so they are closest to the little number 1 marked at the corner of each connector. Then you plug the ide and floopy cables into their respective devices, making sure the red edge is always on the side closest to the power connector on each device. Then you plug in the power cables to the floppy and ide devices, and motherbaord (looks like a large block of cables, has a conector on motherboard, cannot be plugged in incorrectly, well, unless you force it with a hammer!
Then you boot up the machine, and press the button to enter the bios (should be an option on your screen to "enter setup", it is usually DEL key, sometimes f1, and other keys also sometimes.
Check the speed of your cpu, also the bus speed. If you get a 266mhz bus cpu, set to 133mhz bus (it auto's to x2), if a 333, set to 166mhz (again, auto's to x2).
Then add your operating system, you will have to fdisk your hard drive first, which means, booting your computer with a bootable cd or floppy, into DOS. Typing FDISK, and going through that procedure. Which is, "sigh", ok. I am stopping here, I don't know which OS you wish to use. You need to ask that question when you get to it.

With a new board there is no need to flash your BIOS, it comes all set from the factory. In fact, there is no need to ever flash the BIOS unless a very special situation arises. Flashing a BIOS is easy but dangerous. The motto is, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."
