Won't enter setup

When I bench test this mobo it dislays a brief BIOS info page and displays an HP Invent splash screen even though it is an eMachines board. The problem is: when I enter F1 I get only a message that it is entering setup but it never does. I just stops at that point. All I have connected/installed on this board is power, PCI video card, memory and 833MHZ cpu. Could something like the video card be keeping it from entering setup? Or is this normal for a board with no other peripherals attached?

How about some history or more details. Why are you bench testing the board anyway, for instance? I it out of a previously working system?

Try it without the add in card and use DELETE key rather than F1.
There is nothing to learn from someone who already agrees with you.

Mystery solved!!! I replaced the video card and it entered BIOS OK. OtheHill - I was testing it because it was given to me to put into another machine and I didn't know it's history. Dumbob - if I remove the video card how do I know if it is booting properly.

Dumbob suggested that because most motherboards have on board vga output...but not all...it was a valid recommendation.
My name is JRComp, and I approve this message.

JRComp - I don't question the validity of DumBob's recommendation. I had to use a PCI card because the onboard VGA doesn't work. But for those mobo's which come without on-board VGA, how do you use DumBob's method, or do you? Thanx again:>)

My two cents on this topic. The board in question is an emachines brand. I would bet that it does have integrated graphics and that Dumbob knows that.
