Hi everybody,

Im sorry if this is not the correct forum, but this problem has been givin me a headache for a few weeks.

Here's the thing:
I have an Asus WL-500G WLAN Router. It's (wired) connected to 3 pc's and 1 Asus A2500H notebook w/ WL-100G adapter. This is all running fine.

Now I have a HP HX4700 PDA with a built-in WiFi module. I am able to connect to the internet at my school, but not at home with the Asus router.

I have tried the following:
The Asus router gives the oppertunity to create a phassprase which creates a key.
I copied the created key into the HP, together with the same SSID and key number.
But when I tap op "connect" it just keeps hanging on "connecting". I even tried to disable the security on the router so that it would be an open system. Nothing works...

Now, because i'm almost losing my mind here, Im beginning to wonder wether or not the router even supports Wifi. Is WiFi the same as 11 mb/s WLAN? or am i making a huge mistake here?

I hope somebody can help me out here, or if my hardware is not compatible, give me advice on which hardware to buy.

Thanks sooo much in advanced,

~Liz

Hi! I use my hx4700 (with its fantastic screen and wireless and all of its great features) on 80211 networks a lot. I have used it in public hotspots (11mbps and 54mbps) and at home both when I had an 11mbps access point and a 54 - I'd check your configuration.

By the way - I'd STRONGLY recommend the ROM upgrade which is free from HP's website as a download - you get the new version of Media Player and the PDA in general is more stable. I believe the ROM upgrade sorts wireless issues too.

Post back and let me know how it goes.

My ROM is already version 1.10 when I bought it but I'll try to upgrade again.
*sights* I checked my settings so many times...
