Thinking of a way to get sound from my pc on the main floor of my house to both my basement and upstairs...wirelessly. What do I need to buy? Any recommendations? Thx Gary

Two sets of wireless speakers, two 1/8" stereo headphone jack splitters, and most likely two 1/8" stereo headphone to RCA (red and white jacks) adapters. The wireless speakers just plug into the wall AC. Plug one set in upstairs. Plug the other set in downstairs. The first splitter goes right at the back of the sound card so that you can still have sound going to whatever existing speakers you have at the computer and then the other 'end' is for your wireless speakers obviously. The second splitter plugs into that free 'end' on the first splitter because you'll need two inputs for the two transmitters that come with the wireless speakers. The two adapters plug into the two 'ends' left by the second splitter because most likely the transmitter only has RCA or line level inputs. Some transmitters can control 4 wireless speakers, in which case you wouldn't need the second splitter and RCA adapter. Overall, I'm not too terribly impressed with wireless speakers though. I looked at several in Best Buy one time. They're all rediculously expensive and none of them sounded that great. I don't suppose you're any good with house wiring?

There are other wireless audio/video transmitter/receievers out there, like if you wanted to watch the DVD player from your entertainment center on the TV in your bedroom, etc. The 2.4 GHz models are pretty decent and most of 'em have stereo sound. You could use a set of these for just transmitting your audio feed. I don't think any of them require the video signal to be present to still work. Only problem is then you need a small amp to power the speakers on the receiving end. To me, that's a better solution though because then you get to pick whatever speakers you want and whatever amp you want instead of the crappy built-in amp and speakers that are pretty much unchangable in the wireless speaker sets.

Our product - the Kima KS-110 Wireless Audio System, will solve your problem. It is designed to send the audio from your PC to any radio or stereo within your home (or even your garage or backyard). It's easy to set up and the transmitter has an input and output jack on the back so you can connect your computer speakers and operate both at the same time. The transmitter plugs into your the stereo mini jack on your computer's soundcard and the receiver plugs into the RCA jacks on your stereo or transmits to 88.1 or 88.3 on the FM dial. For more info. see www.kimawireless.com.
