I have been trying to help a friend install a wireless router setup in his home for two computers and a cable modem. We have installed the hardware and both computers are getting proper signal strength. The problem is that when we try to connect to the internet we are getting no information, just a IE screen saying the process was unable to find DNS... When we connect directly to the modem with cables, the internet works fine. Is there a step that we are missing when trying to go wireless and causing this problem. Sorry if this is too brief but I don't know what more to post. We are stuck? Any suggestions? Thanks!

Do you have the router set up to log you into his ISP? that could be the problem.

Also can the computers see each other?

If they cant it could be that you dont have the network set up right on each computer.

Dont know about your router but mine came with a CD that runs through setup for you pretty much. of course mine is wired so hope this all helps.

Dont realy no much about wireless networking my only experience is my own setup and i have had the same problem and that was down to the Wep encrytion, i would make sure it is turned off on the wireless router and make sure it is unchecked for you wireless lan cards and then see if you can get the internet and if you can that is what you need to sort out.
