I have a linksys A/B/G combo accesspoint / cable dsl router on the second floor of my house but it is not powerful enough to reach the basement where I need to use it. I only have the G wireless turned on right now and my computer in the basement has a PCI wireless G card with the same kind of external antenna as on the access point/router. As a last resort I will run a wire from the router on my second floor to the basement and put in another access point but I was hoping there might be a way around that. Is there any kind of larger atenna's I can buy, signal boosters, repeaters that don't need to be hardwired, or anythign else that will fix my problem? Thanks.

Repositioning the base station or the computer trying to access wirelessly is the only way I know of to fix the signal problem you are facing.
Sorry.
