I have a Gateway laptop with an internal Orinoco Mini-Pci wireless card. My router is a Netgear b/g. When I start the comptuer in the morning it connects to my wireless network, and everything works fine. Later in the day, the wireless icon shows an excellent connection, however I can't get internet or OE email. When I try to repair the connection, I get a "failed to renew IP" address error. If I restart the computer, it reconnects to the network and everything works fine for a while again. I've had my laptop wired direct to the cable modem and don't have this problem. I've installed a brand new router, and the problem continues. So, am I correct in concluding that something is wrong with the laptop's internal wireless card? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
