Windows XP won't start

July 3, 2011 at 15:26:06
Specs: Windows XP

My PC was running fine bu today I switched it on and encountered the black screen which stated "We apologise for the inconvenience but Windows failed to start successfully. A recent software or hardware change may have caused this"

Then the Safe Mode

Last Known Config options etc

However no matter which option I choose, XP attempts to boot up then just returns back to the black screen above,.

I haven't made any software or hardware changes

Please Help

Sounds like the hard drive fizzed. Check in the bios and see if it's listed.

Thanks for the reply. What have I to check for in the BIOS?
