Windows XP stops loading

Specs: Windows 64
Installed new am2 foxconn mobo and installed my old am2 cpu and 2 gb ram. I am now trying to load windows but just after it loads the XP drivers it seems to go into sleep mode, meaning the cpu fan is still going and so is the harddrive and other fans but the screen turns off and so do the keyboard and mouse. The dvd player stops too , can anyone help figuring what this problem is?
Thanks in advance.

May be the PSU is not powerful enough (not enough output wattage) for the components you are using.

Thanks Phil but the psu seems to be fine, what I'm noticing each time I try to run this silly pc is in the gateway section it is fine but once it uses the hard drive and I log into windows it loads up and then it turns the hard drive and the dvd player and all other peripherals like keyboard and mouse etc. And I can't seem to wake it up or reset it. I have to switch it from the PSU and then restart it, until it gets to windows and loads up then it shuts all the peripherals again.
I must add that this motherboard is supposedly new but ti didn't come with any drivers so i haven't been able to load any drivers due to it shutting down.
