Windows xp pro wont boot

Asus P4p800 motherboard

Specs: Windows XP PRO, 2g dual
Sometimes, when i turn my computer on, it seems like my computer doesn't want to boot. The fans work but the monitor and keyboard doesn't work or another words, light up. Lets say if my monitor was bad and had trouble booting, i still should see my keyboard light on once windows xp passes post mode.

I have merged SATA hard drives and was wondering if there is a boot config command i can run for SATA setup inside windows xp repair center? Or anything i should do? I dont even hear the post sound once it passes post. I have latest BIOS updated for my p4p800.

remove and clean the ram contacts with rubbing alcohol and try that. If there are 2 ram installed, remove one and try booting and vice versa.
I had an HP with the same problem and after reseating the ram it works fine.

also try removing ALL pci cards except the video card if there is one. Try booting. If still no joy, remove the pci video card and see if it may also have gone bad.

Some HELP in posting on plus free progs and instructions Cheers
