The link here is still good:

http://marmro.homeip.net/Descriptio...

Follow the instructions there. There's also a readme file in the download with instructions. But just unzip and rename the file to defrag.exe. Then rename your 98 defrag to something else so it won't be copied over (unless that's what you want) and copy it to you windows folder.

Windows 95 defrag can show you in % how fragmented your harddrive is...
Windows 98 defrag sort your files in a different way...
Windows ME defrag is faster but if you defrag your harddrive
and run Windows 95 defrag it will sort your files in a diffrent way...
so...will my computer run faster on Windows Me defrag or slower?

Wow, I didn't know anyone was still running W98 & Win ME!

Is it compatible with all the new technology on the web, etc.?

As for defrag programs, why don't you get a third party program? They are much faster and can defrag while you use the PC.

Here is a link to Diskeeper 10 that is compatible with Windows 98 & ME:

ME defrag is just using a different algorithm. Seems like at one time I had some ideas on why it worked faster but that knowledge is inexplicitly missing from my brain.

If you're asking if ME defrag will work with 95--it probably would but I've never tried it.

If you're asking if after running ME defrag will your 98 PC run faster or slower than if you'd used 98 defrag--I'm sure if there's any difference in the two defrag methods you wouldn't notice it. Defrag is defrag.

Wow, that's cool about running Win 98!

Yes, Diskeeper 10 can be purchased for $29.95 for the Home Version. It's the best commercial defrag program I know of that will run on Win ME or 98.

Did you try clicking on the link? When I click on it, it takes me to a purchase page.

Here it is again:
