Acer / Extensa 5620

Specs: Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium, 1.667 GHz / 2037 MB
While attempting to solve a BSOD issue, I performed a sfc /scannow command. It listed the followinf error:

When I attempted to open this file it told me access was denied. I then used F8 to attempt to repair any issues with my OS however, I still get the same message.

While seaching online, I have found various "opinions" about the cause. Can someone please clarify this for me? I also performed a scan using SmitFraudFix hoping that this would solve my issue.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can solve my problem before my computer crashes once again?

"It listed the followinf error:

That's not an error - that's the log file SFC makes in Vista and Server 2003.

Search using: c:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

Using System File Checker (SFC) To Fix Issues
Vista and Server 2003 (only)
When SFC runs it logs it's actions to C:\WINDOWS\LOGS\CBS\CBS.LOG

Search using: c:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log access denied

Hi Toyman
