|I just read about this exact same problem on Windows 7 at a different computer forum (driver failed to install). The fix was rather unconventional, but it did work:|
Leave the pen drive plugged in and do a "forced" shutdown by pressing and holding the power-on button till the PC or laptop suddenly shuts off.
Now power it up again. The error checker will probably kick in because of the improper shutdown, but when that's finished and Windows starts, the pen drive should be detected and it's driver should this time install successfully.
