i have run in to a problem when ever i boot Windows 7 from my HDD or from the install CD it gets to the boot screen (the flag) and then just shuts off i have tested with a diffrent PSU still dose same thing tested hardwaren taking all out bar what i need to run and still dose it. I tryed a copy of Ubuntu 10.10 64-bit and that works 100% so im putting it down to motherboard. If any one has any ideas then im welcom to all if not im gunna chuck £30.00 on a new board when i have the money spare.

Curious Why Unbuntu works and Windows 7 doesn't. Is Windows 7 supported on your hardware?

Check your MOBO for bad capacitors:

I'd test your HDD; you can download free manufacturers hard drive utilities from their respective websites to make bootable floppies or CDs to thoroughly test your hard drive surface area, mechanics and electronics:

- Seagate/Maxtor (Maxtor acquired by Seagate): Seatools.
- Western Digital: DataLifeguard.
- Fujitsu: Fujitsu Drive Test (FJDT).
- Hitachi/IBM: Hitachi Drive Fitness (HDFT).
- Samsung: (HUTIL).
- Toshiba (Fujitsu, Samsung or Hitachi utilities may work).

Just another stupid saying...
