I Have a Toshiba lap top that is Vista Operation System. I am trying to find out if I have a anti-virus program on.

Under
Window security center:

Firewall ON.
Windows Firewall is actively protecting your computer.

Automatic updating On.

Malware protection ON
Virus protection ( AVG Anti-Virus Free reports that is up to date and virus scanning is on.)
Spyware and other malware protection
Window Defender and AVG Anti-Virus Free both report that they turned on.

Other Security Settings Ok.
Internet security Settings Ok
All Internet security settings is set to their recommended levels.

User Account Control On.
Account Control is turned on.

However when I right click on something like I am a custom too with Windows XP I can not scan the Zip Folder or anything before I open it.

Please help Thank you very much!

Looks like you have AVG free installed and running. If you are missing the right-click context menu options to "Scan files..." the easiest fix for a novice is probably to download the latest AVG installer and reinstall it.
