HI,
On my desktop computer when booting up i get to the desktop and my cursor on my mouse freezes. I have tried a new mouse but it is still the same. Also when i turn on the pc I get:
auto detecting pri master IDE
auto detecting pri slave...not detected
auto detecting sec master..press ESC or abort
auto sec slave...not detected
don't know what all this means but please help...cannot get into pc

Are you saying that your mouse might move for a bit then just after you move it the mouse freezes?

Try safe mode at boot to start. Maybe bios for usb if usb mouse. Might be a conflict.

Try a linux live cd and see if mouse works.
