Hi all! I'm trying to set up a new windows XP installation into a asus P5Gd1 motherboard. I have the diskette with the hdd drivers, but I can't access the F6 menu when I'm booting to set up windows! So I get this message:
Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer. Setup cannot continue. To quit set up press F3...

The F6 option is to setup RAID or SCSI drivers for your mobo.
Have you formatted your HD? (that could be Y its not 'seeing' the HD)

Rimfire: nope... The bios doesn't recognize the hdds, only the cdroms! :( but the same thing happened when my computer used (till yesterday afternoon) to work operate normally!
RichGu: I haven't formatted my hdds, but if I have to do so, I will! I asked you, because I read back some similar topics, where you mentioned something like drives disk etc...

Okay, as usual I like to start from the basic: >Why are you using floppies to try to set up XP? Everything can be done from the XP CD.

>Before you set anything up, your harddrive must be partition(ed) and formatted in NTFS. Otherwise the BIOS will just tell you that there is no OS to boot into. You must boot from the CD to do this.

TWIMC. Indications are that he does not have a 'Microsoft' WinXP installation CD and is trying to use a borrowed 'OEM' CD. .
