Subject: Win XP, GeForce 5200 problemsOS: Win XP ProCPU/Ram: 768 DDR |
Comment: Hey guys, I am hoping someone here can help me out on this one, I am pulling my hair out! This past weekend I assembled a new Win XP Pro computer with a P4 2.66 processor, gigabyte GA-8SG800 motherboard, WD 80GB HD, 768 MB DDR 2100 ram, and a GeForce MX 5200 video card. I am having trouble playing games, in some games (Tropico, Sim City) the program just shuts off, in Warcraft III as soon as I start the game I get an error "Fatal Error, c0000005 Memory could not be read", I went on the blizzard website and they had solutions for the problem but none of them work. I noticed earlier today that my motherboard only supports 1.5v video cards, could that be the problem? Is the GeForce 5200 1.5v's? Also the computer has this habit of just rebooting when I am doing nothing but searching the internet. If anyone can help I would be extremly grateful! Thanks in advance.

Reply: (edit)Dear Friend, I think you have a bad memory module, check by ruuning only one module at a time and see if you can find the culprit. amit_nine03@yahoo.co.in

Reply: (edit)Would that be causing the game problem with the programs just quiting out on me? That might also explaint all the trouble I had with installing windows, I got a new hard drive and that let me do it, maybe I just got lucky that time.

Reply: (edit)The Sis chipset and an Nvidia card is not a good combo and may be the cause of your issues. The RAM is a possibility as well and easier to start with. Jimi_l
