I posted this once, but I never really got an answer.

I have a A7A133 ASUS board that I am going to be adding a new video card to. I am concidering adding either a ATI Radeon 9000 Pro 128 MB or a 9100 pro 128. I have a Radeon 7000 64 MB now.
I was not able to get ANY GeForce chipset card to work on this board. The Bios were updated, it just would not take.

Rather than continue to screw with it, I am going to settle for ATI.

Will I have any problems with the 9000 pro 128 or the 9100 pro 128 on this type of board? Which is better?

Thanks a lot

(Ya, I am slowly upgrading my stuff...next will be the soundcard then the MoBo then the CPU.)

specs:

A7A133 ASUS (2002 BIOS)
Athon 1700 CPU
384 PC133 RAM
Windows XP
ATI Radeon 7000 64 MB card in the AGP slot

This site really likes the 9100. Almost too-o-o much.

thg still puts at the top of this price range. no dx9 or eye candy surcharge.

Not sure why you couldn't get a Geforce chipset to work on there....but my advice in upgrading your system is:

Plan ahead. Know what cpu you want to upgrade to (at least the type (Intel or AMD)), then decide on a MB, then graphics card. Sound last.

Just my opinion.

I apreciate all this great advise, but no one seems to be able to actually answer the question. Will it work or not????
