Will RAM for MAC work on non-MAC laptop?

Specs: Windows 7
Hi, I was just curious if memory that is listed on the packaging as "Mac Ready"... and says it's compatible with "MacBook, etc"....
will work on a Windows laptop ?

I see the Mac logo on the package but nothing about Windows.

Everything about it matches my system...
4GB (2x2GB) - SODIMM - DDR2-667mhz, etc.

I understand it will, but why bother. Why not just get the ram for your machine.

If it will work, and all the specs are what my computer calls for, then why isn't it the RAM for my machine ?

What is "the RAM for my machine" ?

If it's the same specs as the ram you have now, you can use it. If you need to see what your machine will use, go to crucial.com and use the online scanner for your machine.

Ok, I understand.

The specs I mentioned in my first post were the required specs for my laptop. Anything not mentioned in that post, was also matching between the RAM and my laptop.

I bought memory based on those specs, at what I think was a decent price. A matched pair of 2GB (4GB kit).
When I received it, the packaging had all this "Mac" marketing on it, nothing about Windows, so it worried me for a bit. Their tech support isn't open today.

In the research I've done it "seems" it should work. Was just waiting for someone to say "yes, absolutely" before I opened it.

Thank you

I don't know why the package said that, but ram for both machines is the same as long as the specs are the same. Good Luck !!

I've never had any problem using Mac memory in PCs but it's hard to say that's always true. Interestingly, you can often get 'Mac' ram cheaper on ebay because people don't realize it's interchangable.

You're not really green until you're soylent green.
