Will not startup

This computer ran yesterday but today I have a blue screen which reads: Unmountable Boot Volume So I ran the XP test disk and the hd shows an Uncorrectable error in block 6384181 in the read and verify disk tests. Is there a way to repair the hd instead of replacing it.

Hi Thanks for the info but I was lucky in using a disk which came with XP. It repaired the startup and no more blue screen. I think the hard drive is damaged though. Will
