I've got exactly the same board and I've used a 60gb Seagate Barracuda with it and had no problems. The original BIOS will not auto detect any drives over the 8.4gb limitation so you will have to goto the hard drive manufacturer's website and find out the parrameters for the drive.

1) Bytes per sector
2) Sectors per track
3) Heads
4) Cylinders

When you have this information go into CMOS setup and either Primary Master or Slave, what ever you jumpered the drive to and 'User'. This is where you enter the parrameters. Exit the BIOS saving the settings and reboot.

Thanks Ben for your reply, I forgot to add that my BIOS is dated April 2000, and would like the HDD to work without flashing the BIOS. I saw some message boards about this motherboard and found out that, I have to enter the drive parameters manually.
