|Mine didn't light up when I disconnected the cable but that doesn't necessarily mean your connector is bad. The cable may be bad or the controller disabled in cmos/bios setup. Or maybe the drive is bad.|
Do you get any error messages? If the controller is enabled and there's a problem with it, the cable or drive you'd normally get an error.
Also, enable 'floppy seek at boot up' if you have that option in cmos.
