Hey guys,
I am on my PC a hell of alot. I have a 17" CRT. I get headaches fairly often. Simple question: Would a TFT not give out the radiation CRTs do and therefore I would not get headaches (or not as many)? Your views are much appreciated.
Cheers

Not to dismiss the possibility that radiation may be a contributing factor but the headaches may relate more to eyestrain or incorrect positioning of your screen.ie height/distance. Lots of info on ergonomic design. Learn to take a break of say 10 minutes per hour and do some neck streatching exercises. You could get better value from a filter to go in front of your screen to cut down glare etc. Try the simple things first before going to the expense of replacing the monitor only to find the problem persists.
And of course, "If headaches persist see your doctor"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day.
Teach him to fish and you feed him for life.

Another cause of head aches and other ills with a VDU is flicker due to a low refresh rate. You should have a refresh rate of at least 70Hz. Some people are more susceptible to this problem than others.
Radiation is unlikely to be the problem. Years ago when VDUs first came in to common use, extensive research was done on radiation from VDUs, especially regarding pregnant woman. It was found that the only harmful radiation generated by a CRT are X-rays and that has been know about and catered for since the early days of television.
A TFT screen does not flicker like a CRT so refresh rate is not so important.

Like Richard59 suggested, give your eyes a break every once in a while, the headache could be attributed to eye strain.
