Hi Guys, iv just signed up to this website, there seems to be some kind folks willing to help each other out and i hope to be able to offer my experience and advice in the future.

But for now i have a question, iv got a dell 8300 case and a working dell 4600 which i just upgraded the ram, audio card and graphics card, i also have a new Power supply id like to install, but the 4600 case is just so small....i was wondering if anyone has or heard of this working? Before i take out the Motherboard in the 4600 id like to have an idea if it will fit nicely. It would be great if the Mothorboard will becuase then id have room for the two sata drives and the powersupply aswell as the two dvd drives id like to install, the 4600 case is just a little tight. Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated :-)
Molly

Dell has proprietary motherboard / case combos. If I am not mistaken I think that the 4600 uses a dell special power supply that has a different pin out than a normal power supply -> http://www.endpcnoise.com/cgi-bin/e...

I think you are out of luck on this one.

I would open the cases and measure the position of the screw holes that you would use to mount the board. If they measure the same distance, I wouldn't see why you couldn't swap them out. Of course, you'll disconnect all power from the 4600 before you open it up. Maybe use a cloth measuring tape also. Once the case is removed, you can measure the holes from the outside of the brackets. Good Luck.
