Specs: Windows XP
while using computer. The system completely shuts down. Like I removed power source. I hit power button and it restarts.

Yes, a bad fan will not provide enough air flow to keep things cool. Open the case and use a can of compressed air to blow out the dust. Unplug the computer first, of course. Once you make sure it's clean and it still shuts down, it could be a failing power supply if it's a desktop.

Replace the bad fan.

Be careful with compressed air, use safety goggles or glasses and mask. Small parts could/can fly out and take out your eye. Do it outside otherwise it will get back into the computer.

I use a vacuum with a special paper nozzle.

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.
