If somebody can help I will be their BFF.
Am about to drop-kick computer out of the window in frustration. Since I bought the computer the wifi has never worked properly. However, I can use the internet if I plug in the cable.

My computer can actually recognize and connect to wifi, and occasionally open google, but anything bigger like hotmail, facebook, youtube etc it cannot surf. I have reformatted the hard drive and removed the anti-virus software to see if that was a problem, but neither have helped.

Technical support from PC City is useless, they just say it must a problem with the internet service provider (it isn't) while the internet service provider says it is a problem with my computer (and they are right). Many many frustrating hours on the phone to both have ensued.
I have tried to use wifi in several locations without success and it´s clearly a problem with my computer, not the wifi.
Can anyone help me solve it? I would be So grateful. I am not very computer savvy so instructions would have to be pretty basic...Thank you!!

It appears that you are attempting to use a public wireless
connection. Until you set it up so you can switch easily from
wire to wireless it may be iffy to get the wireless to work when
you want it to.

Most of the time I use the wifi I have in my house, which works perfectly on other machines. I have taken the laptop to other places with wifi connection just to check it is not a problem with my wifi, and it isn´t because my laptop cant surf anywhere. Thanks.
