WIFI connect problem with Archos 10 netbook

Archos 10 netbook

Specs: Windows XP, 1.6 GHz/1 GB
I have an Archos 10 netbook (Windows XP installed) that will not make a wireless connection to the internet. Downloaded and installed all drivers from Archos, but when the WLAN driver is being installed, it gets an error message indicating the install failed. When I check the Device Manager, it indicates the wireless network is installed and working correctly. At the same time, an icon is displayed on the Task Bar indicating the Ralink wireless is disconnected. Am at a loss what I should do to get connected. I wasn't able to find much information of help from the Ralink site, and virtually NO help from the ARCHOS site. Hope someone can get me headed in the right direction.
