Hi,
I am really confused about widescreens... I know that their aspect ratio is 16:9 as to 4:3... but I want to buy the Samsung LN-S2352 from bestbuy. It boasts 1377x798 resolution which would be great for me to use as both a monitor and a tv. But I'm worried about my games and other content that does not support widescreen. If i have an old game, like starcraft, warcraft.. or anything that not "now" it most deffinitely does not support widescreen resolutions.
So the question is, will the lcd tv auto stretch out the picture to fit the screen? or is there a way to display the non supported programs with blacked-out bars on the side and maintain the original 4:3 size??
I currently am running a Leadtek nvidia 6600. has dvi, vga, and s-video. i will be upgrading to a 7900 soon. and the lcd tv i want to get is this one. http://www.samsung.com/Products/TV/L...S2352WXXAA.asp
if theres anything else i should know or a site that has a compilation of data about widescreens please help me out! thx

I have a Sony KLV-S40A10 widescreen TV. It supports several display options, one of which is to display normal 4:3 as is with a black bar down each side. I imagine any TV of this class will do the same. It also has three composite inputs, one component input, one HDMI input and one VGA input. I've run my laptop into the VGA input, the video out from my ATI 9800 All In Wonder into a composite input, and a PlayStation 2 into a composite input, all with no problems. So those are the things you should look for.
