|Device Manager doesn't show speakers no matter how they are connected or what they are connected to, it only shows the sound controller (ie the sound adapter in your laptop, Realtek, Intel or whatever.|
If your monitor has built-in speakers, the audio connector on the back is an "input", not an "output". It's not designed for plugging speakers in to it. You plug an audio cable into it, then plug the other end in to speaker output on your PC or laptop. That allows the monitor's built-in speakers to produce sound.
